Hi, my name is Mateusz Boniecki, the CEO of Social Vikings, a marketing agency. Today, I want to address a very important aspect of the creation process: the question “why?” For us, this is the key to strategic doors because this perspective enables us to create worthy long-term investments for our clients. It’s not hard to create something that works and looks good, but creating something based on key values, key assets, and key needs of our clients, such as KatalX, is a significant challenge.

Today, I have the privilege of describing our work for KatalX, which includes the rebranding process and the creation of their website. Starting with the rebranding process, you can see the current shape of the brand we created for KatalX.

Key Values Driving the rebranding:

1. Trust: Trust is everything here. In a sensitive industry like this, it is crucial. The board members of KatalX value trust highly and never want to disappoint their clients. We represented this through the shapes, graphic elements, and colors (specifically blue) used in the website and branding, leveraging the psychological impact of color.

2. Sustainability: KatalX aims to achieve not just for themselves, but for the whole world, offering effective solutions to global problems. This value is represented by the color green, which even has a dedicated subpage on the website.

3. Energy: Energy is key to achieving business goals. It is present in every member of KatalX and is reflected in the branding, especially in the shapes of the letters, such as the dynamic “X”…. which is an element we have been working on by the sweat of our brow.

Moreover, the shade of blue and green was already present in the brand…. and our task was to add energy to these colors. Electric blue and seafoam green made the brand breathe full!

For example, we refined the previous logotype, which was generally good, but we aimed for something even better. The new version has thinner letters to better indicate the energy driving KatalX. We also experimented with color shades, choosing “Electric Blue” to represent energy and a vibrant green to symbolize life.

We built the rebranding process on solid strategic foundations, enabling client to create marketing that reflects KatalX’s essence. 

In the logotype and on certain marketing materials, we intentionally avoided using the color black and instead opted for a dark blue. Why? At first glance, it may be difficult to discern the exact color used, but it alters the initial impression nonetheless. The dark blue shade is slightly brighter and consistent with our branding (much closer to electric blue).

Dark Blue: An additional branding treatment within the colors focused on using the blue color in an unusual additional way.

Instead of the usual black color, we used Dark Blue in key communication areas, which is similar to black, but subconsciously adds more depth to the released elements and maintains more consistency with the brand’s most important color signifying trust.

Another example of our meticulous approach is the bullet point icon. In collaboration with KatalX representatives, we decided to create an icon that echoes a small element from the KatalX logo. It’s a subtle detail, but we firmly believe that investing effort into these details contributes to achieving impeccable branding.

An interesting branding example we had the opportunity to work on is the KatalX loop featured on the website. We aimed to incorporate the ‘X’ letter into the loop’s design, making the middle of the loop resemble the ‘X’ as closely as possible. In this section, you can also observe the practical application of the dark blue color.
